Formation Program
The fundamental goal of the Society’s formation program is to
develop Edmundites who are truly disciples of Jesus Christ and who
by their active participation in our common life and our apostolic
works can contribute positively to the Society’s mission of
re-evangelization.
Candidates associate themselves with an Edmundite work and usually
live in an Edmundite setting prior to Novitiate. During candidacy,
aspirants are suitably prepared for Novitiate. An Edmundite helps to
guide and direct the aspirant so that the period of association
helps the candidate and the Society assess the initial indications
of a candidate’s vocation and his suitability for membership in the
Society.
Novitiate initiates candidates into Edmundite life so they can reach
an informed and free choice to profess publicly their answer to
God’s call expressed through the Society.
Post-novitiate formation allows new members to develop the qualities
and skills needed to contribute positively to the apostolic works
and the common life of the Society.
Ongoing formation renews members in personal, spiritual, apostolic,
and communal development so they may better participate in the
realization of the Society’s mission.
